Dawn's SolitudeDawns SolitudeDawn's Solitude
Silence, except my laptop's drone Winter's grey through my window's frame Memories invades my looking-glass soul Bright light recollections of love and pain
Blades of morning evading curtains drawn Now intrude upon this darkened abode Searching for courage my part to play Scared it's my sanity they'll now erode
Date clicks over, reading another day But in this mind, no dark nor dawn Pleading with my memories, disappear! In dawn's solitude, it's this loss I mourn

Desolate dreams I bid farewell No room here for hope or heart Corridors of my mind now silent Choke in blackness overwhelming
Traces of words and unsmiling faces Voices raised echoing harsh memory What I was, who I was today? when? The pain is back, it smiles at me
Search by sanity for a trace of me Deep, murky abyss of failing mind Doubtful existence of birdsong feint Draw the blind; retreat, recoil sleep.

Bolted shut behind the door This night goes on forever Fear of dawn, fear of death Rain, softly taping on the roof
Colder now my mind does say Or my heart turning to stone Secrets dark the key now lost Blind and safe they rot away
Ice-cold sweat upon my brow Mind moving towards the edge Noises outside, they can't exist Too late to recognize them now
